In Vermont, if you're over 18, do you have to have your permit for a whole year before geting your license?
I want to get my license as soon as possible, and I've heard a lot of different things about how long an adult has to have their permit before getting a license.
ANSWER: It is my understanding that you only need to hold your learner's permit if you are under the age of 18. For those over 18, the learner's permit acts as permission to practice driving with a licensed adult until you are ready to take the road test. does vermont have a law that suspends liscence for three speeding tickets in under 18 months
my daughter received one failure to control traffic device ticket in ny, and just got a speeding ticket for three points in vermont.. we live in vermont and she is 17.. she has been driving for one year and took an approved driver ed course, and held her permit for a year before she passed.
ANSWER: Her first two tickets were in different states. They are completely unrelated. Your license can be suspended in other states and you'll still be able to drive in your own. Vermont or any other state does not cross-check with other states to see where else you've gotten traffic violations. Each state has a separate DMV, and each has different rules..

i have a clean vermont state license that expired today, and i also have a clean new york state permit.
ANSWER: As long as your VT license has not been expired for over 12 months and it was not suspended or revoked previously, you can easily exchange your license for a NY state driver's license. For complete instructions, visit the following page: http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/license.htm.....
